Rolodex Propaganda
Rolodex Propaganda was a mobile-first NetArt exhibition curated by Tom Milnes for Polygon Palm and presented as an embassy of The Wrong Biennale. Bringing together work by Clareese Hill, Clement Valla, Helene Kazan, Katie Zazenski, Marc Blazel, Max Colson, Micheál O'Connell (Mocksim), Raphael Fabre, Shane Sutherland, Theo Ellison and Milnes, the project confronted propaganda, corruption, deepfakes, deception and the ethics of digital and virtual image production.
The online exhibition ran from 1 November 2023 to 31 March 2024 before being translated into a physical exhibition at KARST, Plymouth, from 18 to 27 April 2024. At KARST, the browser-based works were developed through installations, screenings and other material forms, foregrounding the different ways that images circulate, persuade and acquire authority across online and offline environments. A one-day symposium on 26 April extended the project through talks and discussion.
