About / Contact
Tom Milnes is an artist and curator based in the UK. His practice explores the materiality of imagery and technology, and the ways media glitches, errors and hidden subcultures shape how we see the physical and digital worlds.
He works with photogrammetry, augmented reality, NetArt, sculpture and socially engaged projects. These technologies are often pushed off course—misread, disrupted or repurposed—to reveal the assumptions built into digital images and automated systems.
Recent projects include Ashnihilation, a public augmented-reality commission that reimagined Plymouth Hoe through threatened and speculative ecologies; the exhibitions SCANITAS and SCANITAS:lab; and the online curatorial platform Polygon Palm. His work has been shown internationally in the UK, the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland, China, Korea and Canada.
